Ladies Cosmetics Do Not Last Forever

Ladies Cosmetics
Contrary to what women want to believe, ladies cosmetics do not last a lifetime. They do expire. It will be good for your health to abide by the expiration dates indicated on your ladies cosmetics. Beyond their best before dates, cosmetics become less effective and tend to harbor bacteria. You will be at risk of skin problems, pink eye and other medical conditions if you continue to use expired cosmetics. Learn when you should stop using your favorite ladies cosmetics.
Foundation. Cream foundations last between four to six months. Liquid foundations can be used for six months. Concealers usually last for about six to eight months. If the foundation changes texture or begins to smell odd, change it.
Face powders. Ladies cosmetics such as pressed powders, blushes and eye shadows should only be used for a year.
Lipstick. Together with your lip gloss and lip stains, lipsticks should only be used for up to a year.
Pencils. Eye and lip pencils also last only a year. If this type of ladies cosmetics begin to crumble or are too dry, toss them out.
Mascara. After three months of use, toss out your mascara. The pumping action pushes bacteria into the tube that the brush picks up from your eyelashes. You can contract pink eye from your old mascara.
Cleansers and toners. Stop using your opened facial cleanser after 6 months. Your toner should last for at least a year.
Tips and warning: Remember to check the expiration date on your ladies cosmetics. Diligently replace your expired cosmetics no matter how beautiful or useful you think they are. As soon as you open and expose your ladies cosmetics to light and air, bacteria will start growing. Avoid sharing your cosmetics with another person.
Women have a tendency to ignore the expiration dates stamped on ladies cosmetics. Even if their cosmetics are discolored, crumbly or smell funny, many women still use them. When they do, they put themselves at risk. Toss your ladies cosmetics out when they reach their expiration date so you don’t run the risk of getting an infection. Health first before beauty.
